Statement

Abbey Franklin is a multifaceted fiber artist in practice with textiles, natural dye, sustainability, and interconnected relationships. Her thesis project "use without using (in practice)" honors the power of sharing knowledge and connections through the processes of natural dyeing, and garment making. Abbey explores the science of food/food waste dyeing as an alternative approach to influence her audience on their relationship to materials and one another.
