Maia Malakoff  ’24 (Fiber BFA)'s art practice revolves around making wearables, exploring the relationships between material and how it exists on the body. Family Dinner is pieced together through embedded memories and stories that create a space for generational healing through a multicultural identity, both to yearn for, and mourn the loss of childhood. Made with recycled and found materials, this collection is a walking quilt molded into a protective garment that encases each body.
