Statement

My works tend to revolve around the idea of space and time, especially the notion of ephemerality. the notion of flow and in-between-ness. I am often intrigued by how the world is constantly changing, both gradually and rapidly. Video making is for me, an act of collecting intimate but mutual expressions we all share. By capturing certain moments of life, such as numerous things that cause the movement of water, I find the energy of life that breeds.

I have been developing Photo-Motion, a technique of stop-motion using varied imagery, and exploring the intersection of the moving image of videos and the imagery of photography. Through this method of emphasizing each frame that goes into the motion created, I explore themes of in-betweenness, flux and human-ness. I want my work to touch the unconscious emotions and feelings of the individuals, that is breathing in between gaps, that one has not yet spoken, or did not know the ways to describe.
