Thank you again for your commitment to the overall health and wellness of our campus community. MICA’s on-campus COVID-19 testing program has seen high volume this week, return to campus and residence hall move in have gone smoothly, and I’ve heard from many of you—and your faculty—that this first week of virtual classes has gone well. Your collective efforts are inspiring.
I am pleased to confirm that next week, beginning Monday, January 24, 2022, classes will return to in-person and hybrid instruction as planned. This is possible, in part, due to the strength of the data being reported through our COVID-19 testing program. Through January 19th nearly 1,700 samples have been collected via MICA’s on-campus testing, and the positivity rate for those samples stands at 5.1% — well below that of the city and state.
Additionally, dining at Meyerhoff and Glace Grille will return to in-person service beginning Monday, January 24th.
Please remember to complete both of your required on-campus COVID-19 tests, this remains critical for understanding the overall public health situation on-campus.
I look forward to seeing the campus further activated next week, and I hope that you are as well. Until then, I hope you have a peaceful weekend.
