June 24 Faculty and Staff Memo

An update on plans to reopen campus in fall 2020.

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I hope this finds you healthy and safe.  Attached is a letter that was just sent to Students and Parents to preview some essential information about the upcoming Fall semester that is important for you to have as well.

I also want you to know that as part of the R5 planning process for Fall 2020, a work group of staff, students and faculty was created to assess and determine the public health measures, policies and modifications to the physical campus that are needed to make our campus a healthy and safe place to return to in the fall.  This group, the Healthy, Safe and Sustainability Campus (HSSC) Work Group, has been working hard for the past several weeks to develop these plans. A report from this group will be provided in early July, which will include a plan for a phased reopening.  Until then, I want to share the eight strategic areas the Work Group is focusing on that will be described in depth in the July report.

  1. Reducing density on campus
  2. Strict adherence to physical distancing
  3. Use of face coverings
  4. Hand hygiene and personal respiratory protection practices
  5. Monitoring of symptoms
  6. Rapid response protocols for positive tests
  7. Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting
  8. Workforce support and community of care measures

We look forward to seeing you and wish you continued health and wellness.

Best,

Doug Mann
