Sustainable Design: Alayna Citrin

Currently, a graphic designer at Sir Kensington's in New York City, Alayna Citrin loves working in process-driven, collaborative environments. Specializing in sustainable graphic design, Citrin previously worked as art director at the Green Team, a New York-based strategy and communications firm.

Currently, a graphic designer at Sir Kensington's in New York City, Alayna Citrin ’15 (Grahpic Design B.F.A.) loves working in process-driven, collaborative environments. She specializes in sustainable graphic design, which, as she explains, is not just design that focuses on environmental causes. As she noted,

Sustainable design builds communities in thoughtful and collaborative spaces, recognizes and understands its place and influence in the world, and strives for beautiful and easy to understand outcomes that are backed by data and research."

Citrin was previously art director at Green Team, a New York-based strategy and communications agency. As a freelance designer, she has worked in design, branding, and promotional projects with a focus on educational institutions, advocacy groups, and local food organizations. Among her clients are the  No Boundaries Coalition and Real Food Farm.

In addition to graduating from MICA with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design, Citrin also pursued a concentration in Sustainability and Social Practice at the College.
