INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY POLICY

In order to support sound College-wide information security practices, compliance with various State and Federal legislation, and with various industry standards and best practices, this Infrastructure Security Policy applies to all organizations within the College, and to all authorized Users of College Information Resources. Instances of non-compliance must be reported to Technology Systems and Services (TSS) and reviewed and approved by the Technology Services staff.

This Security Policy is intended to protect the integrity of the campus network and infrastructure, and to mitigate the risks and losses associated with security threats to the campus network and technology infrastructure. The goals of this policy are to:

  1.  Safeguard the integrity and availability of the campus voice and data network.
  2.  Reduce threats to the integrity and availability of computer systems connected to the network.
  3.  Reduce the likelihood that computers on campus are used to attack other organizations, bringing liability and disrepute to the University.
