Community Art Collaborative

What is AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorps is a national service program that engages thousands of people each year in service to their communities in critical areas like education, health, and conservation.  It is a program that offers first-hand experiences in community development and community strengthening.  Each year, there are around 75,000 AmeriCorps Members serving at different local and national nonprofit organizations around the country.  Every state and city in the U.S. has dozens of AmeriCorps programs operating each year.  Some focus on education and tutoring,  some focus on environmental conservation, and some focus on disaster relief and volunteer mobilizing.  The CAC Program uniquely focuses on creative arts and community activism through the arts.  We are one of the only programs in the country that has this unique focus.
