Join the Student Space Gallery program for the opening of Blooming from Darkness: A Short Story by Sangun Park on November 12 in the Gateway 2 Gallery. This exhibition will be on display from November 8 - December 3. Exhibition Statement: Pain is something everyone has experienced at one point in time. This feeling we all relate to allows us to empathize with each other and grow. Blooming from Darkness: A Short Story displays a beauty and imagination that can occur at even the darkest of moments. Showcasing surrealistic oil paintings that merge human figures with mythological beings or other animals; this intersection creates a focus on a new species that inhabits recognizable spaces. These paintings all exist in a dark background as the subjects are the focal point and the scenery is being pushed back into a void. There is no guarantee that you will be beautiful in the future even if you have worked hard and waited patiently. Life is confusing but will always have beautiful moments to highlight amidst the darkness. This is a Student Space Gallery exhibition.
