ALIZA NISENBAUM – FEB 24 – 5:00 PM – LAZARUS AUDITORIUM Nisenbaum is best known for her colorful portraits of Mexican and Central American immigrants. Collaborating with Cuban performance artist Tania Bruguera’s ongoing project, titled “Immigrant Movement International,” Nisenbaum taught Art and English there to Mexican and Central American immigrants, and then painted their portraits upon connecting with them personally. Marginalized and undocumented communities and their families comprise Nisenbaum’s group scenes.
