Statement

My drawings, paintings, and sculptures explore the idea of veils and membranes through color relationships, texture, and form. I am inspired by the idea of liminal places, where the veil between Here and There is the most thin. I’m interested in what happens during the passage from one plane to another, what is gained, maintained, or lost. Through my use of materials, both dense and faint, I seek to capture how these membranes behave. Vibrant color and varying textures, lines shift and shapes are all left suspended at this border, capturing a movement that is both ephemeral and cyclical in nature.
