Sihan Xu
Statement
Sihan Xu is a filmmaker, animator, and photographer from Shanghai, China. After growing up in her hometown, at 14 she moved to Rhode Island for school. There she developed an interest in existentialism to help make sense of her new environment, and cultivated a passion for illustration and storytelling. She later studied filmmaking at the Maryland Institute College of Art, honing her interest in visual expression through 2D media. Sihan’s work mainly investigates the extraordinary amongst the mundane. She is often inspired by the uncanny, and the inexplicable surrealism of daily life.
