Planning an Event at MICA

MICA can accommodate smaller conferences, meetings and dinners.  Films and symposia are also great options in our performance spaces. Unfortunately, due to campus limitations, MICA cannot host weddings or wedding receptions. From the classic Main Building to the modern Brown Center, a MICA location may be the ideal setting for your event. The Office of Events will work with your event coordinator to ensure the highest standards for your occasion. MICA is a full-service venue, with in-house catering. Event spaces are described below. If you would like further information, please complete the form at the bottom of this page, or call the Office of Events.

Brown Center is a contemporary, soaring glass building. On the first level, the starkly beautiful four-story Leidy Atrium can accommodate parties, cocktail receptions, and pre- or post-performance receptions. Cohen Plaza, a beautifully landscaped plaza with a large fountain, is at the entrance to Brown Center and may be tented for events.

Falvey Hall is a 520-seat, multi-use performance and multi-media space designed for symposia, lectures, performances, multi-media presentations, and film screenings. The Hall has 427 seats on the main level, seating for 93 in the balcony, and 12 dedicated spaces for wheelchair seating. The triangular stage is 42 feet across the front and 24 feet deep at its deepest point. Falvey Hall features state-of-the-art sound and video systems. Brown Center also boasts a 70-seat lecture hall, as well as seminar, breakout, and conference rooms.

The classic Main Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1906 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie after the Maryland Institute’s downtown building was destroyed in the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. It has a magnificent marble grand staircase opening onto the central three-story Main Court. The marble columns, mosaic floor, and second-floor balcony make a wonderful setting for a party. Large and small studios adjoining the Main Court provide excellent occasion spaces and staging areas for support services for all events.

In addition, the College’s other buildings feature studios, classrooms, and conference rooms that are available for meetings and events.
