Student Involvement Specialist
Ambria Safford is an African American artist and administrator based in Baltimore and New York City. She previously worked as an Administrative Assistant at Pratt Institute, where she managed undergraduate exhibitions, department budgets, and branding of Pratt’s Art and Design Education Department. Her love for management, creative work, and adult education led her to join MICA as the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Student Engagement before becoming the Student Involvement Specialist. Safford holds a BFA in Art & Design Education from Pratt Institute and is currently pursuing a MA in Cultural Heritage Management from Johns Hopkins University.

As an artist, Safford uses textiles and publications to explore the themes of memory, culture, and the experience of time. Her work has been exhibited in community galleries around New York City. In addition to being an artist, Safford enjoys hiking near bodies of water, cooking experimental meals, and researching more about the world around her.
