Order Regalia

In the 1960s, soft berets became part of MICA’s academic regalia and they are the modern-day symbol of a MICA graduation. Additionally, students of graduate degree programs wear hoods and traditional gown to indicate their achievement. MICA will provide an academic hood to all graduating candidates during the ceremony.
While regalia is not required for any commencement event, we encourage you to wear your beret, hood, and gown for the May celebration. Gowns and berets can be ordered by credit card or charged to the student’s account.

GETTING YOUR DIPLOMAS

We’ve teamed with Parchment Inc. to provide two versions of your diploma: a traditional printed diploma and an official digital version. The digital diploma is an official document that you can share online or send to employers, educational institutions and others for fast verification of your degree. There are a few key actions you need to take to ensure that your diploma is correct and delivered to you.

Questions about your diploma should be directed to
enrollmentservices@mica.edu, or check the Parchment FAQs

Please do the following as soon as possible:

1. PROVIDE A DEGREE NAME.
Your diploma will be issued by Parchment Inc. in two forms: a traditional printed diploma and an official digital version. Please see the following instructions to ensure that your name is printed properly and sent to the correct address. Unless you enter a DEGREE name, your diploma will be issued using the full PRIMARY name (click through to see full primary name).

    • In the bottom portion of your Student Services Center (Personal Information), click on the Names link

    • Click on the button to Add a New Name

    • Select Degree from the drop-down menu, enter the desired information and save. Please note that salutations will not be printed on your diploma.

    • The same name will be printed in the Commencement program.

2. ADD A DEGREE EMAIL ADDRESSProvide a non-MICA email address designated as a Degree Email. Since MICA email accounts will expire,  graduates must designate a “Degree Email” in order to receive both digital and paper diplomas; the Degree Email is where the digital diploma will be sent, and it will provide graduates access to an account with the vendor, Parchment, for questions, follow-up, or future copies of the physical diplomas. You will not receive a digital diploma unless you enter a Degree Email address type.

    • In the bottom portion of your Student Services Center (Personal Information), choose Email Addresses in the drop-down box

    • Click on the button to Add a New Email Address

    • Select Degree from the drop-down menu, enter the desired information and save

Notification of your digital diploma will be sent to your personal email account on file when it is ready (~2 weeks after the last day of the term, depending on how quickly faculty submit grades).

3. CHECK / UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS
.  The paper diploma will be mailed to the permanent address on file. Please check to make sure we have your correct information:

  • Log into your MICA account and confirm or update your PERMANENT address

  • Check (or add) your MOBILE  phone number as well - Parchment will send you a text alert as soon as your digital credential is ready (one time only, not used for marketing).

  • Want to opt out of the text alert? Click here.

  • If you will be moving shortly, please set up mail forwarding; it is quick, cheap ($1.10), and will ensure that your diploma reaches you.

Please note:

  • Your diploma displays your name, degree, major program (Latin honors apply to undergraduates only).

  • Students who have an outstanding financial obligation to MICA will not receive their diploma until their balance is cleared.

  • Students with incomplete or missing grades will not receive their diplomas until all degree requirements are satisfied.

Printed diplomas will be shipped to your permanent address in approximately 4-6 weeks. You can track the shipment through your Parchment account.

Congratulations! We are so proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing what is in store for you next.
