Wellness Coordinator

General Purpose

Serves as a conduit between the Wellness Center and the MICA community.  This will be achieved through the planning and implementation of programming which aligns with MICA wellness initiatives.

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Will create programs which address the 8 areas of wellness: Sexual, Social, Emotional, Intellectual, Occupational, Environmental, and Physical
  • Wellness Coordinators are part-time student staff of MICA wellness
  • Hours of commitment range from 4-9 hours per week

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Create and manage programs/events for assigned area of Wellness.  This includes planning, advertising, and implementing program
  • Responsible for the implementation of 3 programs per a semester. (1 must be a social media campaign)
  • Manage one of the following outreach area: Stall Street Journal or Social Media/MICApp
  • Participate in weekly Wellness Coordinator meetings
  • Hold one shift as week working as a Fitness Assistant (working the front desk of the Fitness Center)
  • Assist Wellness office representation (open house, fairs, orientation etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to collaborate and work with others in a team environment
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of healthy Wellness practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled MICA undergraduate student at time of employment

  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of [2.5]

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience Programming

  • Previously held position as Fitness Assistant

Compensation

  • Meals during training week
  • 4-9 hours per week
  • $13.50 per hour 
  • Fitness Staff t-shirt

Conditions of Employment

  • Must attend mandatory meetings:
    • Wellness Coordinator welcome meeting April 14-16, 2023
    • Joint Student Leader Training August 18-19, 2023
    • Fitness Assistant Training - August 21, 2023
    • CPR / First Air Training - TBD
  • May not hold Resident Assistant position and Wellness Coordinator position
  • Student employees may not work more than 20 hours per week across all on-campus positions.
