Architectural Design Minor

MICA's Architectural Design Studio Minor will introduce you to new ways of making, thinking and drawing with which you can create complex things, solve physical problems and help you to better make any Art physical or digital you want. The minor is a great choice for animators, graphic designers, interdisciplinary sculptors, illustrators, painters, and more.

Program Overview

The Architectural Design Studio Minor will introduce you to architectural representation and analytic techniques, the design process and the development of rigorous design strategies. Learn how to work with restrictive design elements such as the body, site, program, light, air, materials, structures, and building methods.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The minor consists of 15 credits.
  • Nine of those credits will be earned in the core design studios. The core studio work is the need-to-know information.
  • To find out more, do not hesitate to get in touch with us to talk more about it if you’d like. Just stop by the 4th floor of the Dolphin Building to speak to the chair, faculty or to students and to see our studio and work. Lirn, our Admin Assistant  has some information and a cookie waiting just for you!

Finally if the concurrent requirements you will see in the curriculum are a scheduling issue for you, please email or contact the AD Faculty Advisor Timmy Aziz at taziz@mica.edu to find a work around the requirement .
