Jan Stinchcomb has served MICA in various capacities including chairing the previous Foundation and Fine Arts program, serving as Vice-Provost of Undergraduate Studies and Faculty and Dean of Academic Affairs.
 
 

In 2012, she was invited to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of Harford Community College, in Bel Air, Maryland. From 2011 to 2013, she served as President of the International Association of Art and Design Schools (AIAS), the first American to hold the position. Ms. Stinchcomb has served as a visiting evaluator for NASAD since 2009, and as a member of the Commission on Accreditation since 2013. She participated as a member of the NASAD Working Group on Communication Design Standards in 2012, and as an Annual Meeting presenter. Ms. Stinchcomb received a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1984, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in General Fine Arts from MICA in 1989.
