A People’s Museum of LGBTQ2+ History is a socially engaged artwork by the art and design collective AK/OK (Kate Jarboe + M. Wright), that creates a queer archive, telling the stories of everyday people. As a grassroots archive created by hundreds of people, the project is a witness to the ways that lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, and queer people are present in all of our lives. The project asks you to remember: Who was the first LGBTQ2+ person you know in your life? This act of collective memory contains hundreds of drawings and stories - of aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, children, friends, lovers, classmates, teachers, public figures, strangers, and selves. All participants will be credited as artists in the project. — All are welcome! www.AK-OK.com @rememberweloveyou Artist talk: THURS Feb 27th, 3:15pm in Fox 220 Then join us for the WE ARE EVERYWHERE opening reception in Fox 2 Gallery from 4 - 7pm.
