Student Development is part of the MICA Health and Wellness team alongside Student Health Services, Student Counseling Center, Accessibility and Disability Services, MICA Fitness, and Health Promotion.
Louise Cracknell - Assistant Director for Student Development and Eliza Mott - Coordinator for Student Development work directly with students to help them work through concerns that are impacting their academic success, well-being, and enjoyment of their time at MICA. These can range from struggles with mental and medical health to financial and family issues. By utilizing a combination of one-on-one meetings and collaboration with campus partners, Student Development supports students based on their individual needs and concerns.
It is to the benefit of students to speak with Louise or Eliza early in the semester if they are experiencing ongoing concerns, or as soon as possible after a concern arises. Even if they are not sure whether or not Student Development can help, students are welcome to reach out for guidance. Early intervention and support can often provide students with more options than waiting for a situation to resolve on its own or until a crisis situation develops.
