MICA Response to Coronavirus
For the most up-to-date information on closings and cancellations, please visit MICA's page on Coronavirus.
Fall Semester 2020
MICA will be offering exclusively online courses. MICA's campus is closed and residence halls will be at minimal capacity.
Students Returning to Campus in Fall 2020
Please wait for specific instructions from Residence Life regarding shipping your belongings to campus to coincide with your scheduled move-in date. Please do not ship packages to campus at this time (8/5/20).
Beginning August 24th, you can send your packages to arrive on MICA's campus on Aug 24th at the following address:
On-Campus students only:
Fall 2020 Resident
1401 W Mount Royal Ave
Baltimore, MD 21217
You can pick up your packages in Postal & Print on Monday and Wednesday 9:00-3:00. Call Tuesday, Thursday or Friday to arrange a pick-up 9:00-3:00. Mail and packages will no longer come to your residence hall address and you will no longer have a mailbox there.
Students living off-campus, please continue to have your mail and packages shipped to your home or local residential address. To reduce face-to-face interactions, we can no longer accept off-campus undergraduate or graduate student packages.
We have adjusted our procedures to reduce face-to-face interactions, help maintain social distancing, avoid long lines and reduce wait times. We ask that our staff, faculty, student and neighborhood customers please make arrangements to ship YOUR PERSONAL PACKAGES through your local post office, so that we may prioritize MICA business mail needs. Due to our limited staffing and hours, we ask that MICA faculty, staff (for your department only, not personal packages) and students (personal) limit the number of packages you bring to pay to ship on Monday and Wednesday to 5 packages per person. If you have more, we recommend starting your own account at USPS.com and bringing the packages in with pre-printed labels (no limit on pre-printed drop-offs).
Customers will need to write the recipient and sender names and addresses on the package, or name and fill out our address/payment form, leave the package(s) and form(s) in our care. If you need an envelope or box, just leave what you're sending and we will package it and add to the total of your transaction. We will email you the total and the tracking number(s). We are no longer taking cash as a form of payment for safety reasons.
We are also limiting printing services to MICA business related printing. Student printing is limited to shipping labels and legal documents, such as tax paperwork or immigration related documents. No art or other personal printing for the time being, please.
Faculty and Staff
If you have not already done so, please designate a recipient for your department's mail so that MICA's billing and other financial needs can run smoothly. We will mail bill-like mail to you and hold/discard ads, catalogs and promotional mail.
For any questions or concerns, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 410-225-2202. If you cannot come in on Mondays or Wednesdays or will be on campus on a different weekday, please contact us to arrange an individual pick-up.
Students Living Off-Campus
Please arrange for all future packages to be sent to your home address or off-campus address. To forward future mail and packages, please visit your local post office and fill out a change of address form, or visit the USPS website. Postal & Print will be limiting its customer window hours 9:00-3:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays only, and changing our focus to limit services to essential business services (bills, paychecks and Covid-19 safety management).
