Maureen Weiss is a designer and educator who has specialized in identity, branding systems and collateral for higher education and not-for-profit institutions for over twenty-five years.

She has been recognized with numerous industry awards from CASE, UCDA and The Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington and her work has appeared in HOW Magazine. She has partnered with a variety of businesses and associations throughout her career and currently designs for her own studio.

Weiss has taught design at the university level since 2000 and has been a full-time faculty member in the Graphic Design Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) since 2015. She served as the Interim Director for the GDMA Program 2017–2018 and was awarded the 2017 Trustee Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching. While at MICA, she has collaborated with the MAT program on community-based work fostering the poetic voices of Baltimore city youth. She was part of the advisory team for the college’s new Center for Teaching Innovation and Exchange and has been a part of initiatives fostering inclusive teaching for linguistically integrated classrooms.
