My work is encompassed by my love for music and old Hollywood. Pre-pandemic, I would attend classic film screenings and as many concerts as possible to take photographs and gain inspiration for projects. I mainly work in traditional media such as colored pencil, gouache, collage, sculpture, and mixed media. These resulting works combine a range of film genres with mainly punk musicians who have influenced me most. The product is a series of film posters, featuring these musicians placed within a specific film genre, a mixed media sculpture of Joe Strummer, and a number of paper dolls directly inspired by those of old Hollywood. Strummer features prominently throughout these works and stands as one of the most influential role models throughout my life. A musician, human rights advocate, and overall decent human being, these pieces are dedicated to his memory.
